Kettal 2016 at Mobilia

Just in time for long and lazy summer days spent outside, Kettal’s stunning 2016 outdoor furniture collection makes its way to Mobilia.

Working with the most prestigious names in the industry, Kettal is synonymous with innovative, timeless furniture.
Celebrating the new season, its 2016 outdoor furniture collection features impeccable creations from Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Rodolfo Dordoni, Patricia Urquiola and Doshi Levien.

Stampa: Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec’s aluminium Stampa chair combines several manufacturing techniques for a sturdy yet delicate result. A calyx-shaped metal shell inhabited by carefully organised holes creates gentle shapes that recall textile sensations, and is robust enough to stand the test of time. Available in two versions and two finishes, an additional seat cushion is also available.

Boma: Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, the Boma collection was created out of the need for high performing furniture that withstand the outdoor elements, without sacrificing comfort. Soft, large cushion seats in different modularity rest on an aluminium frame, while the plush upholstery is one that rivals the best found in interiors.

Roll: Patricia Urquiola has hit the mark again with these two new creations for the outdoor setting. Roll converts a regular backrest into two independent ‘wraps’ linked by colourful straps, which are connected to the main aluminium structure by two pins. These pins can be removed, allowing the user to store the cushions in winter.

Mesh: The Mesh collection, also by Patricia Urquiola, combines industrial and natural materials, hard and soft surfaces, and transparent and solid volumes for furniture that is based on contrasts. Expanded metal in the sofa’s backrest and tables gives a feeling of lightness. The range recalls architectural facades that filter the surrounding environment without stopping light and air flow.

Terrain fabrics: Reflecting the subtle blend of colours found in different natural landscapes, Doshi Levien’s fabrics become one with the outdoor landscape in which they are set. Sensual, iridescent and textured, each fabric has a surprising softness usually associated with indoor fabrics. A total of 34 different colours are designed to complement a range of outdoor materials including marble, stone, wood, mesh and coated metal.
