Everyone wanted to get to the new Mobilia showroom for Contemporary Wine In Design to check out not only the latest products and brands … but also the space as well! And Mobilia sure did not disappoint! Designed in collaboration with Perth’s own Space Agency, the premier European fine furnishings supplier Mobilia opened the doors on their brand new split-level space, wow-ing even the hardest of A+D’s heavy hitters with a glittering collection of Europe’s finest in design today
With the first floor dedicated to ranges from iconic brands such as The Republic of Fritz Hansen, Kettal, Nanimarquina, BD Barcelona, Atelier Areti (and that’s not even half!), the floor above showcases the most recent treats coming out of the studios of Diesel’s ‘Successful Living’ and Design’s doyenne Moroso.
Following the successes of Mobilia’s Design Circus 2016 earlier that week, Perth was Moroso-mad – and we still can’t get enough! Getting the chance to actually see and experience some of these incredible piece first-hand was undoubtedly a privilege … and to meet their maker in the flesh is a memory that quite a few of us will treasure for some time to come.
Aside from the incredible offerings from Europe, one of the standouts in the Mobilia showroom on the day had a bit more of a local flavour. As part of their support for the local art community across WA, Mobilia has begun to collaborate with a handful of lucky local artists across the disciplines of sculpture, photography and stitched collage. Eveline Kotai, Trish Ainslie and April Pine brought to the showroom the quintessential WA flavour that infuses their incredible creations – and all visitors on the day could hardly help but stroll through the spaces with eyes wide open (and mouths almost hitting the floor!)
Contemporary would like to say thank you to Mobilia for helping to bring to Perth one of the biggest design events of the year. The team behind this incredible supplier is truly an asset to our local A+D community, helping to bring the design discussion all the way across the country, and a little bit of contemporary Europe into our homes. Congratulations on a fantastic new showroom Mobilia!
